Update History:

October 26th 2009

I made Jango Desktop open source and loaded the source code into Google Code at http://code.google.com/p/jango-desktop/ I also updated the about Jango menu option in the application to reflect this.

Just a few minor changes:

  • I created a next song shortcut key. It is Ctrl + > or Ctrl + .  however you want to look at the key. This was a request of Kapa
  • Sometimes Jango Desktop would crash if Http://www.jango.com threw a JavaScript error, this should be fixed now.
  • I used to get my lyrics from LyricWiki, however they discontinued support in the way I was using it. Now Lyrics open up in a new instance of the browser.

  • Jango Desktop  was originally compiled to support both 32bit and 64bit operating systems. However http://www.jango.com has incorporated flash advertisements into their websites. Since there is no 64bit version of flash for a 64bit browser at this time I have recompiled the application in 32bit mode.  This will force the web browser control to user the 32bit version of the browser and 32bit flash has much more support. This bug was found and reported by Kapa in the comments. Thanks Kapa

  • Add a cache buster that was causing Jango Desktop to stop playing on sequential loads without clearing temporary internet files. I noticed this when fixing the bug Kapa reported. Thanks again!
  • Made application single instance by using mutex.
